Pervasive '07 workshop
The PalCom project is organizing a workshop entitled
Designing for palpability at the Pervasive 2007 conference,
May 13-17 in Toronto, Canada.
People can find it hard to understand and make the most of the potential of pervasive computing. For us the word 'palpability' captures an important element of what is necessary to realise the possibilities of pervasive computing, especially in its meaning of 'plainly observable', 'noticeable, 'manifest, obvious, clear'.
Palpability is not a property, but an effect of people's engagement with technologies, objects, and environments and there are many ways of designing for more successful, pleasureable, effective engagement.
We invite contributions from interested researchers in all disciplines.
